Scanning Books on Your Phone
Point your camera at a barcode and add a book in seconds.
The fastest way to add books on your phone: point your camera at the barcode and let the book fill itself in. You can scan a whole stack in one go.
On your phone, log in to your library so you are in Admin mode.
Tap the gold "+ Add a book" button, then choose the "Scan" tab at the top.
Allow camera access if your phone asks.
Under "Adding to:", choose "Our Library" or "Wish List." You can see and change this at any point while you scan.
Line up the barcode on the back of the book inside the frame. If the light is low, tap "Light on."
Each book you scan stacks up in the list below the camera. Keep scanning. There is no need to save in between.
Books you already own are flagged "In library." To take one out of the stack, tap the "X" beside it.
When your stack is done, tap the gold button at the bottom. It tells you exactly what you are about to add, like "Add 2 books to library."
Good to know
Working through a big bookcase? Scan straight through the whole shelf, then add them all at once. Watch the list for anything flagged "In library," and give it a quick look before you tap, in case a barcode came up as the wrong edition.
